V oblakoch /Up in the skyes

29 - 30 September 2009

Truly impressed by the TAM airlines services. Given that we got a pretty good bargain for our flights, we did not expect that much and were nicely surprised what a good care they have taken of us. The food was fantastic, we liked the movies & also got some cool freebies, one of which was a cosy green fleece blanket :) - what a luxury! That of course we all kept & packed straight into our bags after (preparing to be homeless after all) and must say since got a good use of (looks like we´ll cherish it to the end ;). Bea even calls it her ´pashmina´ lol.
It took altogether around 13 hours to get to Sao Paulo where we were connecting to the flight for Buenos Aires. Sao Paulo airport was pretty chilled for our liking in the sense that we were queuing for an hour and a half just to go through their security checks O_O (imagine standing up for so long after virtually sleepless night being jetlagged). By any means one is certain - we knew we were in Brazil! :))) The excitement by the very thought of it started kicking in. So much so, that we couldn´t resist taking pics in the departure hall with any signs of ´Brazil´ in the background. Just ignore the zombie faces & everything seems grand ;)
Once on the plane from Sao Paulo, the airhostesses did a little ritual that nearly suffocated us - spray-walking through the cabin, which we figured must had been the mosquito repellents. So there you go, malaria scare-wave passed through us, but overall lasted for less than a second as we were gone straight after (chrrrrr...thinking now maybe they intended to put us to sleep, you know the brazilian way of dealing with passengers ;) hahaaaaa)

Poletime, poletime, poletiiiime...

29 September 2009

Heathrow Terminal 4 - check in:
`you might not be able to fly tonight`!!!!!
``ey?????? you see, you see, I knew there would be a problem...``

Despite several phone calls to the Argentinian embassy and TAM airlines who assured us that there would not be a problem with our visas, we had this fright just moments before our departure. The problem was that we booked our return ticket to Buenos Aires coming back 6 months later, which could have appeared that we´re gonna overstay our 90 days of tourist visa. However, as we explained to the embassy and TAM and now tried to convince the lady at the check-in desk, we were planning to go through 7 different countries in South America and would not stay longer than a month in Argentina!!!
Eventually after some phone calls they let us onto the plane. And that´s how the fun began! Phew!!! :)))

V slovencine:
Na letisku Heathrow v utorok 29 Septembra 2009
Pani pri check-in: `neviem ci poletite dnes vecer`

A takto sa nasa sranda ´fun´ zacala! vydych :)))
